"The Granddaddy of them all" TCU vs Wisconsin- Fireworks?

The Granddaddy of them all, the Rose Bowl, will be nothing short of an awesome and explosive match up. TCU Horned Frogs (11-0) and the Wisconsin Badgers (11-1) will clash, and put their seasons on the line in the 97th playing of Pasadena's and Americas's oldest Bowl Game on New Year's day at 8pm. This will mark the first meeting of these two teams since 1970 when the squads played to a 14-14 deadlock, however, the stakes of this years game are much higher, and I expect fireworks to light up the staduim.
The only place that success comes before work is in the dictionary and I have put a tremendous amout of work and research in this big game. I have looked at this game from numerous angles and I conclude that this will be an extremely high scoring match-up. Both clubs are averaging a staggering 43.3 points per outing and are locked with one another at 4th in the nation in this statistic. The books have put the middle of this game at 59, and it should be more like 66 or 67. Both TCU and Wisconsin will surley come firing and looking to make a statement in what some are calling a consolation game for TCU who are Mountain West champions and managed to muster a perfect record for the 2010-2011 season.
If the Horned Frogs cannot slow down Wisconsin's large, burly and powerful ground game, it will be a long outing for them. Freshman James White, who rushed for over 1,000 yards this season leads a ground attack second to none when they are rolling. In addition to White, running backs Clay and Ball have put up an astounding 44 combined touchdowns this season. The Badgers are averaging an impressive 450+ yards per game and coach Bret Bielema utilizes these power-houses wisely. The Big Ten co-champions are very healthy at the present time and are listing "no injuries" at the moment. Offensive Coordinator Paul Chryst will look to mix things up in an effort to continue to produce abnormally high scores and yardage against TCU and Gary Patterson, TCU's mastermind Defensive Coordinator.
Furthermore, on the flip side, if the Badgers are unable to contain or attempt to slow down the Mountain West champions high-powered offense headed by Quarterback Andy Dalton, who is listed as "questionable" as of 12/29/10, things could quickly get out of hand. Dalton, who has completed over 60% of his passes and has thrown for 26 TD's is accompanied by team leading receivers Josh Boyce and Jeremy Kerley who have also manufactured staggering numbers.
All of these numbers are to be thrown out the door at the begininng of this game, due to numerous factors. For example, TCU feels like they got screwed because they produced a perfect season, and still will fall short of a National Championship even with a rout in the Rose Bowl. The fact of the matter is, these boys are looking to make a statement, and a big one. Big Ten co-champs, same thing, looking to improve to a 12 win season and silence the world about this TCU team. There is, however, an X factor in this game.
The X factor is TCU's #1 rated defense and the thoughts regarding their strength of schedule. Unlike Wisconsin, TCU has not seen the power-house teams such as Ohio St, Iowa, or Michigan State. Yeah, TCU has the #1 rated defense in the nation, but who have they played? They gave up 35 points to a horrible San Diego State team. That does not mean that they are not as good as they are ranked, it simply means that they are going to be tested. This is why the middle of the over/under is only 59. This is, I believe the biggest line mistake of the Bowl season. I believe that both teams, as mentioned before, are averaging over 40 points a game, will continue to do so. All members of both teams are excited to play in the Nationally televised Rose Bowl, and fireworks will light-up the sky in Pasadena on New Years day.
As far as trends, 7 out of the last 8 games that Wisconsin has played have gone over, as I believe that this one will as well. In relationship to the winner of this game, take a coin out of your pocket, flip it in the air, and make a chioce in that manner. It will be an awesome game, but very high scoring. If I had to pick a winner, I would say take the points with Wisconsin..On the other hand, if you want to make a large stack unload your
savings account, childs tuition, or whatever you can gather up on the OVER in this game...Stay tuned for more best-bet winners and let's say it together, "The Books are Doomed."
